The Signature Immersion is our flagship program, built for adult travelers who want to go beyond sightseeing and into genuine cultural participation. Family Immersion brings that same depth and intention to parents and children traveling together, with hands-on experiences designed to engage every age and spark conversations that continue long after the trip ends. Custom Immersion is for those who want something built entirely around them — a fully tailored experience that takes your family’s specific interests and shapes them into a detour unlike anything else.

SIGNATURE
Designed for children traveling and learning in community, Signature Immersions provide a deep dive into the culture, history, craft, and daily life of Peru, Hungary, or Mexico. Programs are always created and led by local people who know these places as home. Perfect for children ages 7 to 16 and the more independent 6-year-old.
FAMILY
Family Immersions takes everything that makes Deliberate Detour’s programs exceptional — local knowledge, hands-on learning, and genuine cultural participation — and builds it around the unique dynamic of parents and children discovering the unfamiliar together. Families learn and grow together, creating indelible memories.
CUSTOM
For travelers who arrive with a specific passion, a particular question, or simply a vision that no standard itinerary can satisfy, Custom Immersions are tailored experiences for groups of 10 participants – adults, children, or a mix of both. Every element — pace, experiences, and learning focus — is shaped entirely around what your group most desires.
