All costs described in What’s Included + Excluded are covered by your fee. We have no hidden fees. Your guides and drivers will be tipped by Deliberate Detour, so tips are not required by our families nor will they be requested. While you may meet artisans and craftspeople with Deliberate Detour, you will never be pressured to purchase their wares. They are all adequately compensated by Deliberate Detour. Any additional expenses you incur will be purely voluntary. For example, you might choose to have a beer with lunch (Deliberate Detour never purchases alcohol), purchase a craft, or pick up something on a market visit during Thursday Field Trips.
